Happy New Year!

How depressing is this, I only start my new year post way into the 7th day of the year. I have been busy!
Went for my first trip to Camerons with the Girlfriend. This picture was taken outside the hotel we were staying at, Strawberry Park.
It is a beautiful place, it is just very expensive!
Because the weather in Camerons is so cold, they do not require air conditioning to keep the rooms cold! Hence I am wondering why do they charge so much for a room when they don't even need to pay as much as normal hotels that use air conditioning!

But overall it was still a memorable trip. :)

I think 2012 will be a new year of great change for me! I am so excited about the things that are about to come! I won't reveal much, still wondering if anybody from my company is following my blog or not, when the time comes I will post it here!

Frustrated that I have to sell off my 250R soon. I really loved that bike, but no worries, I am sure I will find another one soon enough! It is just not the right time to own one.

Anyways, new year doesn't feel like new year for me personally. Life still goes one, as all the celebrations and hoo-haas end from the new year celebrations, it is back to work again! Toodles!

It has been awhile that I have even attempted to write something. Sometimes when I just felt like writing something, the ideas/thoughts just slip away due to the tiredness of my body.Work really takes a toll on your body and your mind.I am constantly worried that I am not able to finish what I have started. I am constantly feeling the pressure from my peers as well as my manager. I know that I need to outperform myself, I need to run just a lil bit further, push just a lil bit harder to get through a few months, before things can finally calm down. Yes, I am tired and I tend to get rant-y when I am tired. But amidst all the busy work and church activities, I still do find joy in life. For instance, knowing that my girlfriend will be always supporting me even though we are far apart. Things may be shaky at times, but hey, its our 1st year together and coupled with the long distance, I should be grateful that we even lasted 1 month! Seeing her at night on skype, brings a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart. Even though we can be together all the time, I believe that our relationship can continue to grow stronger, as we continue to pursue the same vision in our relationship with God and asking God to strengthen us along the way.

On another note, I just want to say, I simply love riding my bike! Well, maybe the oh-so-ever bad weather has been preventing me from riding, which makes me want to ride even more! I just love the sense of freedom while riding a bike, after being cooped up the whole day in the office!

Finally its my time to officially graduate! I am already in KL now, convo is going to be this coming Saturday. Forgot to bring my shoes as well as mom's shoes so we ended up buying more shoes for the convo ( no exactly a bad thing right?) Will post up pictures once I have some to post! :p

Harry Potter- The Deathly Hallows Part 2

I think that David Yates did do justice to the HP franchise by giving it a glorious ending. The movie itself this time round follows the plot from the book itself very closely unlike some of the previous installments. There were quite a number of dialogs here and there which will make the movie a tad boring at times IF and ONLY IF you either never read the book before or haven't watched the previous movies or haven't got any clue of what is Harry Potter about.

The CGIs were executed flawlessly with spells executed in bright colors, protection spells, the smoke when death eaters "fly". The movie is much darker, similar to the Part 1 of Deathly Hallows, with a more sinister environment as well as mood. The killings and deaths as well as the makeup was really mature, with much blood and gore rather than clean Avada Kedavra kills depicted in the movies. The director did a great job building the momentum of the story until the climax right at the end.

Although it ended in a quite corny way, the movie really did a good job of wrapping up the whole franchise which spanned 10 years and earned God knows how much money for JK Rowling as well as shooting Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson to super stardom.

I am CERTAINLY watching this movie again, hmmm maybe this time in 3D :D

CHC KL #3 Soft Opening

Last weekend I took a trip down to KL to witness a Historic event, CHC KL's Soft Opening of their new sanctuary at #3!

The new building was simply amazing! There is a MASSIVE LED screen just behind the worship team showing live feed of the service in full HD!

The Hall has a capacity of over 2000 people. I was so proud to have once sown into this building. I feel happy and proud that we can build such a beautiful sanctuary where so many people will be able to experience the power and the presence of God!

I can't wait to go back during August for the Official Opening! I bet it would really be a blast! :)

Day out at the Flea Market

It has been a long time since my visit to the Penang flea market at Lorong Kulit. When I was a little boy, my dad used to bring me there during the weekends when he was scouring for cheap deals for old stuff. He is an avid antique dealer and he has a nick for spotting old & valuable things, and he frequents the flea market to buy/sell stuff to "fuel" his obsession.

After dinner , my mom and I went over to the recently opened Charlie Brown Cafe in Straits Quay. Food was cheap, considering that alot of money is needed in branding. Anyways the main attraction was pictures! The place was sort of built to accommodate photo taking, so with my new 7D I clicked away!

Woodstock is my favourite snoopy character :D

Langkawi Trip!-Day 2 Cont.

To continue from the previous post, after leaving Pulau Dayang Bunting, the boatman (each group is assigned a particular boatman) took us to the place where they fed the eagles! These birds were majestic! They fly with such grandeur and precision. The fact that they can just break from a flying motion into a sharp dive amazes me what God can give to His creations where man can never imitate with a plane! Even the best fighter jets cannot mimic the diving capabilities of eagles!

Aren't they awesome! :D

After having feast our eyes on these amazing birds we are scooted off to another island, Pulau Beras Basah. The funny thing is that there isn't much on this island. The water was very clear so we went into the water and waddled to find out that there were so many dead coral near the beach that we cannot go further out into sea without stepping onto very sharp coral!

After coming back from the island hopping trip we saw a bunch of people setting up stalls near the pier and selling plates with our photos on it! We were wondering when did they take pictures of us! Then we finally remembered that there were 2 sneaky photographers near the pier who took photos of the visitors. The worse part was that most of the photos are blur but they still printed them out without us asking them to do so. Such a waste of resources!

After coming back from the island hopping trip we went and have an expensive-rip off lunch at Pantai Chenang. NEVER try any foodstalls at Pantai Chenang! The food is super expensive! The food was okay, seafood was fresh but 5-6 Ringgit for half a fish is a complete rip off! Every plate of rice was not less than RM9 each!

Nuff said about lunch! We went back to the hotel to wash up and then we headed off to the Geopark where the famous Cable car was!

The cable car was crazy high! The air resembles that of Penang Hill, and the scenery was spectacular! There were 2 stops the first one with just a viewing deck while the second one there was a bridge and also two viewing decks on the tip of the cable car station! I'll let the pictures do the talking!

Before we headed off for our final dinner in Langkawi we stopped by the black sand beach! It was actually a normal (quite dirty) beach but the only difference is that the sand is really black. According to "scientific" explanation it was due to a mineral in the soil which causes the soil to turn black in color.

Then we headed off for our dinner! It was near to YL restaurant which we tried previously but the food here is much cheaper and the portion was a lot larger as well!

That wraps up our 3 days in Langkawi! It is a beautiful island with a lot of places to see. Despite the food, activities being quite expensive and really dark and badly lit roads, Langkawi is quite a great tourist destination for those who want to find relaxation and to spend quality time with family and friends.

Langkawi Trip!-Day 2

Now lets proceed with day 2!

We woke up at 7 in the morning, bathe and went scouting nearby Pantai Chenang for breakfast. We found a malay store selling all sorts of nasi lemak. We had our cheap yet good breakfast there and then to the main highlight of today; Island hopping! The cheapest island hopping fare in town is RM25 so do scout around rather than just registering through the hotel or maybe a tour group. Since the tour groups normally will pick up their clients from the hotel so there is not much difference if you buy the package from the hotel or other private vendors.

We went to 2 Islands on the island hopping trip, the first one was Pulau Dayang Bunting (Pregnant Maiden Island) and Pulau Beras Basah (no translation unfortunately) We also had a chance to see eagle feeding when we were transititing from one island to the other.

After a short wait, we are asked to go onto this motor-powered boat which sits about 10-ish people and off we go!

This is where Pulau Dayang Bunting gets its name, from the outline of the mountains which shapes like a pregnant maiden lying there.
Pulau Dayang Bunting is home to a fresh water lake. The lake is extremely deep. The waddling area is at least 30m deep! When we jumped in, the feeling of not knowing what lies beneath gives us that slight fear that some sort of river creature would come out and attack us...... Yes my imagination is running wild for a bit. I was never a hydrophobic person but I tend to think about sharks and big fish in deep waters.

After swimming for a short while, all of us decided to go for the paddle boat to circle the lake. I didn't want to miss out another chance of taking photos and hence I too went along. ( I missed out the para-sailing and banana boat the previous day! So this is sort of payback time!)

Langkawi Trip!-Day 1

Last weekend I went to Langkawi with my Uni-mates as our graduation trip! I really had a great time with them. We have been studying together since our college days in Disted College and soon after that we went to the same University in Cyberjaya until we finally completed our studies. The funny thing was that even though we have all graduated and will soon be stepping into working lives we still are very much together because a lot of us are actually working in the same company! Anyways, back to the Langkawi trip!

This is the place that we stayed for the duration of the trip of 3 days 2 nights, Landcons Hotel. We booked 2 rooms which fortunately were connecting rooms so we could have our "bonding" time/ Pillow Talk sessions.

We went for beach activities on the first day after touchdown from the airport. The beach was comparatively much cleaner than those in Penang and there were a lot water sports. Unfortunately I didn't try any since I was holding my camera and I do not trust the lockers provided by the water sports vendors so I stayed back and took photos while my friends went for parasailing and also the banana boat!

At first glance it looks more like those beaches in Australia! Don't you think so?

We spent the whole day in the beach until the sun set over the horizon, then we went back to the hotel, washed up, and headed to Kuah town for dinner. We tried the food at YL seafood restaurant which was recommended by tourists online.

Food was okay, portion was slightly abit too little for the amount of people and compared to other restaurants we tried the next few days it was more expensive. But it is only normal for them to increase the price since they are "famous" online!

That wraps up the first day in Langkawi! :D

Crazy about Big Bang, get the t-shirts! Only At Uniqlo! I'm not really a fan unlike someone-I-know, but I bought it simply because ~~of the wrong reasons~~ it says I love BB on the T-Shirt! haha

And it looks good on me. So why not spend a couple of bucks to buy something nice for yourself?

I am guilty of not updating since 1 of January! So I shall talk about the things which have happened within the last 2 months.
Could you believe it, 2011 is only left with 10 months now! It has been a fast paced journey!

What Pastor Kevin said was right, the more responsibilities that you shoulder in your life, the more things that you have to do, the faster time flies!

The previous week was a busy and HOT one! Its Chinese new year week! The week where we eat our hearts out, be merry and collect lots and lots of ANG POW!

I didn't take alot of pictures this new year but I managed to coax my parents to take a family photo! So here is the result!

I got myself 2 pairs of new shoes! :D

One of them was actually bought some time ago. It was brought all the way from the UK while the other one was just bought recently!

Just before Christmas, my mom came to visit my sister and I in KL and we went shopping. I ranted on the subject of me wanting a new pair of shoes and these are what my mom got me!

Bandung Trip! Part 1

Bandung was Awesome! :D

There were many things that was a first timer for me. Big thank you to Pastor Kevin for the opportunity! :D

During this trip I was invited to stay at an ECC church member's house. The room they gave me was awesome! As the weather in Bandung is fairly cooling there was not a fan in sight in the whole house.
The funny thing was that I asked for a standing fan the first night I reached Bandung and Adi (church member's name) looked at me oddly, but being a kind host, he provided me with a fan anyways.

Boy was it cold during the night! In Bandung I woke up almost at 6 everyday, since there is an annoying bread stall which sort of patrols the road in the morning, and the man plays an annoying song so loud that without fail every morning I would be awaken by the sound of "Sari Roti... sari roti!!!"

I stayed in one of Adi's sister in law's room, and was it big!

The next day we went to a church member's house to attend the church's leaders meeting

The house is big! Glenn who is the host, told me that the house was designed by his father, and Glenn is also following his father's footsteps to becoming an architect himself!

Couldn't resist, so the "team" (consists of Pastor and Family, Heng, Faith, Andrea, Mayshen and myself) took many pictures in the garden itself!

There were 2 sessions today, and pastor preached about the seasons of life, telling the people that after the church has grown, what is the next step? Why do people do the things they do? And also how people react to evangelism according to their respective age groups. It was very insightful and very entertaining! Pastor never fails to make his sermon, firm in the "meat" of the word yet light on the palette.

This is Pastor Nala, Senior Pastor of El Shaddai Creative Community, a 1500 strong church in Bandung, doing great things for God!

After the session, pastor went straight for the massage parlour for a 4 hour passage session! I heard from Mayshen that Pastor really liked the massage there. We also had a chance to try out the massage there. Me being a first timer to a massage parlour, didn't like it alot since I cannot tolerate people touching me, what more if the person was touching me everywhere! After the massage,we went to this seafood place called HDL 293 Cilaki for dinner. We had fish, prawns, cumi-cumi (Squid), Kepiting (Crab) and vege! The prawns and vege came it a VERY VERY HOT-hot plate. It was at least smoking for 5 minutes before all the smoke dissipated!

The seafood was delicious! Everything was fresh! Nothing tasted funny or bad, since many told us that "gerai" or "warung" food in Bandung is very dirty. Thank God we didn't suffer from diarrhea!
After dinner we went for some drinks and dessert at a place called drinkoo! Funny name!

But the place was really nice! It has a very relaxing ambience and on the plus side they serve very interesting drinks and desserts!

I forgotten to take any pictures of the desserts though... :(
But I did take pictures of the place!

That pretty much sums up the first 2 days of the trip! Will blog the next 2 days later! If not this post would be REALLY LONG!

Coffee for tea! The coffee in Penang is fabulous! It is thick yet not too thick, it has a very robust and rich flavour to the coffee where you can't find in KL.

We also had toasted bread with butter and Kaya. It is commonly known as roti kahwin, where kahwin is referred to as marriage between butter and kaya.

We also had seafood which unfortunately I hadn't got the chance to take pictures of.

But all in all it was a fun time spent with my uncle's brother's family. They were great people! :D

East, South Bootcamp!

Last Thursday was our Zone Outing!

We had a fascinating time! Started off with a BBQ. We stock up on points for the food that we prepare! How interesting is that!

Then we had to come up with a group identity and a group cheer!

Played station games the whole night till about 5 am in the morning, and finish it off with a drama in the end!

Left church after cleaning up and bathing at about 7 in the morning.

Had to sleep awhile in McD to recharge my batteries before heading back to Cyberjaya.

Then now I am back in Penang, with my uncle cuz his brother is visiting all the way from the UK!

Had a good time today! :D

Emotional Roller Coaster

These few days have been a real emotional ride of my life. It just shows no matter how much we think we have control over our emotions, at times our emotions may just get the best of us.

I suppose this is a good time to reflect on myself. On the ways I deal with my emotional self. I have yet to be the master of my emotions. I really am sorry if at any way I have hurt someone, due to being too emotionally driven.

I am glad God has placed this trial/challenge in my life. Like what Pastor Phil Pringle said, we are to take trials as favor from God, because only with trials we will be able to step out in faith, believing in the unbelievable, and eventually overcome the challenges in our lives victoriously.

I will take this time of my life to reflect back on my actions, my attitude and my character. Someone told me that this will be a life long battle, to try and be the master of my emotions, but if I am able to overcome it, I will have grown to another level of molding my character and my self worth in God.

I am now back in Cyberjaya! The land of the vast plains and crazy weather. With just another project left to go, and another 3 more months in this place, i can't be any happier.

Now its packing up the old stuff, throwing stuff that I deem as not-useful-anymore and start to gear myself an focusing on completing my FYP as soon as possible and to find a job after this!

As many of my peers actually have found jobs in prominent companies in the Electronic engineering industry, I am still quite determined to continue and pursue my dream in culinary arts....

Owh, for those who don't I am going to be switching to culinary arts. Fueled passion will become burning passion one day!

I personally thank many of the people who shaped my life by giving me precious advice on how should I go about to start a career in culinary arts, and thanks for the heads up to those who have already been in the industry before, but nothing will stop me from doing what I like.

It may be an unglamourous job slaving in the kitchen but that is what I like, to cook and to make new colors, tastes, texture introduced to the people around me. I am learning, I may not be the best......just yet!

Many good things are to come! But first the key is to focus on the things at hand.

Don't rush and push God to your plans, plan around His plan for your life. When the time comes, things will eventually fall into place.

Now with God on my side, why should I even worry?

I was forced to go Seremban against my will.

Managed to worm out of the Seremban trip

and instead

I went to Putrajaya today.....

Had lunch at 3.45pm cuz apparently my dear assistant maintenance manager doesn't understand malay when we tell him "itu card access ada interferens luar, alih tempat sudah beres masalah" cuz he kept saying :" settle itu ploblem" (chinese accent)

Drove all the way back to town to the National Heart Institute.

Jammed all the way back and realized i took the wrong turning onto the MEX highway

paid another unclaimable RM1.50 toll fee,

tot today was really a bad day,

BUT

I went out with a ex High School Mate

Went to Tony Romas

Had awesome lemonade!

Had a long crazy talk.

Drove back home and felt

Though today started badly, God can always put certain people in my life, to cheer me up..

Stuck

I am now stuck in Taylors once again....

If you are wondering where on earth am I blogging from, I am now actually at the Taylors library.
Contractors and engineers actually have no right to enter the library. If we are found, we will be thrown OUT. PERIOD.

But we found an awesomest way to sneak in! Say we need to perform equipment checking and tadahhhh! I'm now sitting down at the freezing cold library, blogging about random stuffs.

I went out the Joan,Rachel and Serene yesterday. We went for dinner and desserts at Empire Shopping Gallery. It was a random outing, but through it I got to know them a little bit better, joke with them pretty much the whole night, and we even talked about politics! (don't know how we got to that topic but conversation just happens to be initiated without much effort.)

Owh! Serai at Empire, a eastern peranakan cuisine restaurant serves awesome desserts! I was introduced by Pastor Saras to try the Pavlova there (although it was a tad expensive) it was really worth the try!

The main component of the Pavlova is the meringue, which consists of egg whites and sugar beaten till it is frothed, then they added whipped cream and also a variety of berries.

The meringue itself is actually quite sweet so to balance it out we have the sourness of the berries and the slight creamy yet tasteless whipped cream.

It was really heavenly. Though if left too long the meringue will turn soft and it will taste a bit like cotton candy ( according to serene) but I would really consider to try it again!

Anyhow, I am still stuck in the library waiting for my company engineers to come over. Work life as a trainee is really

Pastor Kevin's Birthday!

Last weekend I attended our beloved Pastor, Pastor Kevin's Birthday Surprise in church. The event was planned by the church staff, spear-headed by none other than Esther herself (Pastor's Wife).

This was the first time I had the chance to attend Pastor's birthday, and it blew me away! The amount of planning that went into it was really praise-worthy.

There were performances, and I meant ELABORATE ones. I commend the staff and the performers to take out time to practice and also to even sort out for performance costumes etc.

The theme was 80s! So everybody was dressed in every possible color you can find! Every color that you deemed to be clashing was the "in thing" during the 80s.

Many girls wore multiple layerings and brightly colored clothes! Turning the whole place into a disco strip with a shining ball in the center of the hall!

They even planned games for pastor and the leaders called "Do you think you.....know your pastor well enough!" In this game, contestants are selected according to zones and they are asked several questions pertaining to pastor's personal and also working life. It was all in all a very entertaining night.

You are the boomz! You are inspirational, encouraging, loving, an example, a leader and a great friend. I love you to bits! Hope you have a great birthday celebration! A double whammy! Celebrated twice for her, once before she went back to Penang for holidays and one, wayyyyy past her birthday!

Work just became "funner"! The past 2 weeks, work was improving, it was getting better. After 2 months I'm finally getting to handle certain responsibilities on my own. The best thing was I am currently frequently assigned to Taylor's Lakeside Campus for field work!

I sleep,eat, work,play in Taylors, even though I don't study there I can say I am already "part" Taylorian! :D

If you are asking yourself:"Where on earth is this?, It doesn't look like Taylors Lakeside!" Well it is not! Its just the view at the rooftop of one of the buildings. :D

Starcraft II

Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty is out! It has been ages since I've actually been playing any computer games. Its not that I don't play any games, just that I prefer to play console games better!

Anyway, Starcraft was a legend, so its kind of hard to live up to the "Best Strategy Game of All Time" title. Many people expect a good deal from the new game. Since there wasn't any sequels for a long time, this one should blow everyone away. They had so much time to prepare for it!

The graphics are awesome, the gameplay is awesome, virtually everything about it is awesome! The only problem now is that I am a noob in starcraft! hahaha so to really REALLY enjoy the game I have to start to learn and play from the Basics!

I am now almost halfway through my industrial training. I have already won half the battle! Another half lap to go!

Working has been quite a new experience to me. I can't say I've been working much during my studies. OF COURSE there are the occasional part time jobs here and there, I am not so rich until I can sit around all day, stretching out my hands keep on asking for money from my parents, but this is a little bit different.

Initially I was really excited to be working in a company in KL. I had the intention all along to work in KL for my industrial training so I can still continue to attend church, and to serve in cell group ministry etc. When I first saw the company website, I was actually quite impressed of their company profile, being a listed company and all with MSC status and all. I thought working in this company wouldn't be all bad. I mean I got an offer from INTEL Penang, AFTER I accepted to train under the company I was assigned by my university. And by the way the company is called DIGISTAR.

YES, many of you may ask, is it part of DIGI telecommunications? I can tell you, NO, it is far from DIGI and the Yellow Man. The company is actually mainly working on the Installation of multiple systems mainly common in commercial buildings such as, audio visual systems, CCTV systems, PA systems, QMS etc. The website has written it in such a way that I thought they were the ones developing such technologies.

To my biggest mistake, the company was actually in the business of integrating the systems into the building, or in other words, installation of various systems. I remember clearly that I wanted to undergo training in a RnD or design company, but this was what I got.

That wasn't the end of it. The worst thing was the working environment. The company is filled with politics! They have many people from different departments disliking each other and many keep on complaining to us ( Trainees) as if to ask us to take their side.

I am assigned to the installation department. I will be helping the technicians on sites to install equipments. This was far from what I initially thought.

Frankly I am disappointed. I don't really like this company, but since I am here I might as well make use of the time I have here to learn everything GOOD that they can offer me. I struggle to work with many of the technicians. Their mindset of working is not to strive for excellence, but rather to find the best way to "curi tulang" during office hours. I have senior technicians lying to the manager. I seen technicians, taking time out during working hours to sleep. And the worst is most of the technicians, all speak profanities! I struggle very hard to keep myself untainted by the culture in this place. Jesus said we are in the world but not OF the world. I can really relate to what He said.

I constantly pray for my supervisors and the technicians. I constantly pray to avoid temptation. It is difficult, but I am here to learn. Apart from that God calls us not to judge but to love. I am merely saying all this not as a complaint, not to rant out my frustration, but to set myself apart, and to be aware of how the world functions.

I hope that I can make a difference. It may not be the best job in the world, but God surely has called me here for a reason, and that is to teach me a difficult lesson to learn, that is to love the unlovable.

CG,Preaching, Durians, Ip Man

The Title roughly sums up what I did since wednesday evening up till today.

This week I have the honor and the privilege to serve in Cell Group, to preach in CG! :D

To those who don't know what it means, you may think it is not a big deal but it is a chance for me to serve God and to enlarge my capacity as a servant as well!

I gotten news that i have to prepare for the sermon on last Sunday, which was also the day we had Shirley's Surprise Birthday. (Read the previous post!) I was really very reluctant at first, as I always thought of myself as a person who is NOT eloquent in speaking in front of crowds.

Even when I took Cell Leaders' Training, the most stressful part ( I think for most students) is the preaching test. I really took time to prepare it! Practiced countless of times, before I got the hang of it.

This time round I took a different approach. I still did my preparation well. It took me 2 nights to prepare the whole sermon. But this time instead of practicing it, I took alot of time praying for it, and praying about it. I believe that by praying it can bring down the presence of God and let Him use me to do His work.

I think it did work! I did not feel a wee bit nervous when I was preaching! I had a sense of direction of where I am going ( although I did stumble a few times along the way =p) I think overall it was a very satisfying experience!

On another random note, I have been blessed by my company datuk with durians! I was off durian for a few years now, I still do like the taste of it. It has since been my craving. I hope to share it with my friends! So we can eat and be merry and smelly together! :D

Finally I want to talk about the new Legend Of Ip Man. Many people are putting a lot of pressure on the new actor, who is actually a disciple of Ip Chun to act and fight as good as Donnie Yen. Honestly speaking, If he were to act and fight like Donnie Yen he would have been famous long time ago! Yes his acting is abit blank and emotionless, but his wing chun is superb! Not as much power and charisma as how Donnie Yen did it, but I have a sense of feeling that he portrays a more realistic and more refine side of Wing Chun. The plot has big twists here and there. The show was overall exciting. We should give the young actor a chance to show of his skills! He has much to learn, but in this movie I think he really did a good job!

Today is already sunday! My weekend rest is almost coming to an end. The Argentina Vs Germany match was very disappointing. Not only did Argentina's formation so messy, the way they play was as if there is a Domentor ( from Harry Potter) sucking their energy! And clearly there is some sort of foul play! Argentina is not as bad as that!

Anyways gonna savour the last day of my weekend holiday before returning to work tomorrow! =(

Shirley's Birthday Trilogy- The Final Chapter!

Happy BELATED birthday Shirley! This was an elaborate plan, cooked up by the leaders under Shirley's subzone for her birthday for this year.

It was a night filled with surprises, fun, tears of joy, celebration and also love! It took the leaders so many weeks to practice and to get everything together. I am very proud of the leaders of our subzone! They can really keep such a big secret!

The event was actually a final chapter of a trilogy of Shirley's Birthday Celebration.
Her first celebration was with her closest leaders and discipleship group, the next was with her subzone during Asia Conference in Singapore! The final one was this one, which was a finale which wraps up the whole celebration with a big bang!

There were many items lined up for the night! The leaders and members were at the church hall as early as 3 to prepare and to rehearse for the event!

There was a Dance featuring Lexy Gaga! Our beloved Hairdresser and Stylist of our church!

Then there was the powerful testimony shared by Charis Lian who wanted to surprise Shirley by flying back to KL early to attend her birthday bash!

The next big thing was the Parade Of Cell Groups where all the cellgroups were required to design a big placard and to parade with their cell members while the MC introduces the Cell Group, the Leader and the current number of members.

Next there was a Drama about Shirley's life with a funny twist to it, which was written by Nickey!

Finally Jan, Hunter and Alexis sang a trio of the song because you loved me and we prayed, we cut the jelly-cake and we had dinner!

It was a big success! I am really glad to have such loving people in the subzone, through this event I also have come to realize how God can really use one person to touch the lives of many. It inspires me to become a better person and it encourages me to spread God love to the ends of the earth!

Finally I just want to say happy Birthday Shirley, we will always run with you no matter what, you are our dearest leader, teacher, friend, listener, inspirer etc.. We Love you Shirley!!!

Hi guys! Sudah lama I didn't post up anything, feeling abit guilty already!

Asia Conference week was a blast!
Had alot of stretching moments, throughout the whole conference I would sum it all up as a platform for me to grow to another next level. I believe after the conference many lives are changed and many minds are renewed!

For me personally I learn to serve people in a larger scale, being Hostel Leader, I finally have a chance to taste how is it like to handle a rather large group of people oppose to the normal cell group numbers.

It was really challenging and many of times I did not handle the situation well, I let my emotions get the better of me, but I learn one very important truth that although we serve tirelessly and sacrificially we must always understand that we are stil serving the Lord our God. Pastor Kong Hee also highlighted this specific point about loving people fervently despite their shortcomings. This I would say is the greatest lesson I've learn throughout the whole Asia Conference.

On another note, after coming back from Asia Conference I have started my internship which will last for 4 and a half months. First impression wise, I really don't like working at the company I am attached to, but as time passes by I eventually am integrated into the company, meeting new people and friends and learning new things together everyday. I am placed in the technical department which handles mostly installation, maintenance, service and repairs of equipments provided by our company to clients.

Many from my department are people who are really hands on, there is not much paper work involved but most of the time we are required to go out to site for work. I get to experience hands on practical working environments. One day my manager talked to me an my fellow friend about the office politics. Only then I knew how bad office politics were at my working place! Its like this guy hates that guy, that guy betrays this guy, this girl did something bad to this other person, etc. There were so many!
I feel we should try to make peace rather than to make things worse by trying to rally "allies" among the workers to support your hate group!

Anyways, lastly before I put a stop to my aimless ranting, I just want to mention that I am cheery and bubbly cuz I have finally completed all the papers for my bachelor's degree! I have no more papers! I just left a final year project and that is it! I can't wait for the day I finish my programme. On the last day I would say in the likes of the Apostle Paul : " I have fought a good fight, won the race and I have kept the faith!"

This 2 weeks will be like the final leg of the race for this 1st half of the year. after everything ends it will be a time of rest and evaluation for me!

It has been a tough and challenging first half of the year! I believe that growth comes to those who yearn for it thru hard work and persistency.

I feel preaching is one of the hardest hurdle I would have to overcome due to the fact that I have a fairly low self esteem and I am really really not used to talk in front of public. I tend to stutter and I tend to lose my train of thought. I never thought of myself as a born speaker, but then again I never thought that I was born with the many gifts and talents that God gave to me.

So sometimes I feel talents and abilities really are found rather than we being born with it.

I am glad that the church given me a chance and a platform for me to train myself! I have done quite many things which I had deemed impossible!

I do hope I am able to do well tommorow for my final year project presentation. I hope I also can pass with flying colors for my final exam!

With this random post, I shall go back with my studies!

Honestly speaking, today had been the worst day since I have forgotten when. I just feel so restless and I am constantly distracted and I cannot do my work properly and effectively.

I was reminded by the spirit to pray! Just now I was talking to Adeline on msn and she told me the exact same thing.

As i start to pray, GENUINELY pray, God's presence fell almost immediately and I find peace and quietness despite the song This Is our God is playing on the background.

As I continue to pray it dawned upon me that how much God loves me, that He cannot bear to see me suffer. Almost instantly my restlessness is been taking away.

I really believe that prayer is a platform for restoration and healing.

And with This I end with the verse Phillipians 4:13

Season of Growth and Breakthrough

I believe this is the season where God is placing my faith in Him to the test. I know there are many challenges ahead, many difficulties ahead. I was once discouraged, but after blessing and prayer from my Cell Leader I have decided to block out the lies from the devil which is setting me for failure. I must have faith that with God all things are possible. He has shown me that I am a victor, as long as I remain faithful to Him and stay faithful and obedient I am confident that God will bring me through this season.
I believe God is setting me for VICTORY! I believe after this season I will grow , I will experience breakthrough!

That is what I believe.......

Easter weekend

Easter weekend was a blast! This time round I was soooo blessed to be able to sing during the Easter Production! I got the chance to sing with the worship leaders in my church! I super honored and grateful! It was a very satisfying experience learning from them. There was also Coleen Dion! Wohoo! Super Diva wei! Her voice super powerful!

This semester is CRAZY. Up till now it has been work work work and non stop work!
To add upon my already super heavy load of school work I now am also serving in the main church so enough said MORE WORK! I am also enrolled for the recent CLT batch and I am now serving as intern for my cell group, and with both of that even more work. Not to mention that I am doing my final year project on this semester, I have to finish the first part of my project by the end of April so its crazy tight schedule! And to add on to all that mess I still have a preaching test on the 20th of April!

Ahhhhh I so busy, I don't know why!!

On another side note, I recently went back to Penang for my midterm break. It was a very non relaxing holiday due to the fact that I have an assignment to pass up before the holiday ends, and also 2 more tests after the midterm break. I did my best to juggle my time between studying and also spending time with my parents. It went pretty well, I also had the chance to attend my mothers office annual dinner! Normally they would book chinese restaurant and the table price is no joke, ~~although there are only 2 tables~~! I even got to try a bit of wine this time, personally I don't like the taste of liquor, but after tasting wine, and I mean quite expensive wine, I find it quite enjoyable!

Besides all that has happened during my holidays, another thing which I am glad for is that I have finally fulfilled my Building Fund! A breath of fresh air! Now its time to save for Singapore trip!

Last but not least, every time, well ALMOST every time I go back to my hometown I will surely receive blessings, one way or another. This time round I finally got to change a new phone and also a new jacket which I have been longing to buy ages ago!

My Blackberry is finally here! I love my Bold! :D

8th of February, your truly turns 22 this year! I wanted to blog about it some time back but Joanne Pang did not send me the photos yet!

Anyways my dear cell members (E17 included) were so nice to surprise me after cell group that day. Well they didn't let me get away without a "sweet" sabo. Asking me to go and ask for signatures and photos of random people asking them to wish me Happy Birthday. Hence I have 2 birthday cards! :D hahaha. I am like super glad to have such great cell members. They even fulfilled my cravings for cheesecake! They bought me Blueberry Cheese from RT! Ahhh I loved it.

On the 8th itself My classmates all went for dinner in a seafood restaurant. The food was quite exceptional and with a very heavy price tag on it! 8 people ate about RM135 ringgit of food without ordering any fish or prawns. If i remember correctly the chicken alone costs RM40, what a rip off =.= but my Uni-mates were so gracious and they paid for my portion as well. They even bought me a Cake!

Rah Rah's Farewell!

She claims that she is super busy running around talking to people ... which she did by the way.. but I feel like didn't talk much with her also! xD
Anyways Uncle super nice... bought her a cake stuffed with fruits! And when I say stuffed it really is stuffed! To cut the cake we need to scrape of the fruits and only then we can cut it and the fruits itself already occupy one super big plate!

Initially nobody wanted to eat the cake. Delvin aka Burst King even said he was too full to have any cake but instead had so much cake in the end! He geniusly introduced us the number game lah!

We ended up eating almost 3/4 of the cake plus the whole plate of fruits! It was crazy! Owh and I finally got to eat the famous Bee Hoon which I feel is super nice! :D :D next time must request for it d! =p

Yesterday I went for Ice Kacang with E7 plus with Andrew Lee. I liked the Ice Kacang super alotttt! I liked the brown sugar and the coconut milk and also the owh super super fine ice! Ahhhh! Nice! Supposed to go for Dinner with E17 but tak sempat! Haih....

Chinese new year service is super awesome! I am very inspired by all the testimonies shared during the service! Auntie Joanna super courageous! So proud of Chinese Church! They have been having breakthroughs after breakthroughs! Last weekend another breakthrough attendance! Must learn from them d! :D

On another note this will be the last service before I'll be back after CNY! Ahhh can't wait for it! Owh and on another more solemn note it is Sarah's LAST service in CHCKL before she leaves!

Fruitful Weekend

Got Sarah's gift done!
Went to Worship Workshop on Saturday morning! Learned alot of "technical" stuff but I believe that after this it really will help me to lead pnw more effectively!
Right after that had lunch with Shirley at LunchBox then straight to Chinese worship practice.
Went to service straight after that. Keith's sermon has been really impactful! He really is a great preacher!
Went for Sarah's Farewell party! Played number games with Delvin,Calvin,Ian,Andrew, David Cheong, Kenneth Teong, David Lee and Jay Sern! Was a super crazy game!
Sunday morning played for Chinese Service! Heard very encouraging testimony from an Auntie!
Finally had the famous Hainan Curry Rice in Klang!
went for 2 hour badminton session with Andrew and David! Love to sweat it out!
Came back to Cyber and getting ready for a new week!

Yesterday was like the latest I've slept since a long time!

My sister and I went to Tasty Pot (Mentari) for steamboat. I particularly like the soya bean and also HK porridge stock. Since last year my appetite has shrunk so I always thought it would be a waste if I were to go for steamboat. Yesterday's spread was very large and there were alot of stuff to eat! I enjoyed the time with my sister!

After the very fulfilling dinner both of us headed to Sunway. I wanted to just walk around but we ended up in front of the cinema! I suddenly felt the urge to watch Avatar 3D since I've heard a lot about it. We bought the tickets at 11.30pm. That was like crazy! Luckily tomorrow I don't have early class if not I would have to force myself to drive back at 3 in the morning! I honestly think that James Cameron did a really good job on this movie considering he has been preparing this movie since 2007 there was like no flaw in the movie at all. I really like how he unfolds the story of the Na'vi and also how he described the world of Pandora in his movie. With the 3D glasses initially it will feel very dizzy but after your eyes get used to the movement and the 3D effect it becomes a very enjoying experience. The only thing I want to complain is the horrible seats at TGV! I can't seat comfortably for the 3 whole hours. Next time I will consider watching longer than 3 hour shows at GSC cinemas.

If I were to give a rating it would be a 10/10 ! Superb!

I don't go to the cinemas often but I would really want to watch tiger woohoo!

I am back in KL! Wohoo! After almost 4 weeks of relaxing and not-doing-anything I am finally back! Normally people loathe to return to their University to study, but I am very excited!

First day of class and I received my results! It was good which also acted as a catalyst to my already peaking feeling of excitement. To add on to that I came to know that I am the first few to have received the title for my Final Year Project, now I lagi happy! On the same day (first day of class) I received 2 Dean's Award for the previous 2 semesters. NOW I AM REALLY FLOATING to CLOUD 9!

I am happy that I am back. I am excited yet nervous for this new year. The Lord has been good to me and his favor is still with me. The year has started great! I hope it will continue being great! I am fully pumped to start berjuang for this year!

Penang Hill

Penang Hill,it has been almost 18 years I have never been to Penang Hill. Today was the first time since I was 3 years old I went up there! I never expected Penang Hill to be so cooling and comfortable. I love the weather there, not too cold not too hot. They even have a very nice little inn with a breathtaking view of the Island. Maybe next time I will bring my friends up there for dinner whilst enjoying the night view of Penang!

I am free until the 18th of January! :D Finally a long deserved break! Short semesters are the worst! Never would want to do it again and never will! Next and last short semester will only be focusing on my Final Year Project so that won't be so rushed because should have completed all beforehand!

Anyways, on a more recent note, yesterday was my mom's birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! LOVE YOU ALWAYS :D

I planned it weeks ahead with her colleagues to get her to come over to KL so that she can celebrate her birthday with my sister and I . I wanted it to be the best birthday she'd ever have. Unfortunately it didn't turn out that way. This was what spoiled it.

I was deliberating where to take her for her birthday dinner. Should I bring her to a fancy restaurant, to korean BBQ, to Chinese restaurant or Western Dining. My sister, being the greedy one, wanted to try Japanese buffet in Jalan Bukit Bintang, at Jogoya. Since I've never tried it I said It should be ok considering the fact that they are charging so much for the food so there should be a certain standard to it.

To my disappointment food turned out horrible! It was not like Tenji which previously I went in June. I commented that the food there was average. A very large spread of very normal tasting food. But for Jogoya, the spread is less, No Barbecue stalls, no stalls selling the Japanese skewers, no ramen stall nothing! Food for one thing is not fresh! I thought they would also serve steamed Cod fish. Instead they had fried cod and after trying it, the reason they fried it was because it was really not fresh.Generally food was really horrible. I wouldn't recommend anybody to even think of coming. Promotion or not it is realy not worth the money!

I did not take any photos of the restaurant, the horrible mood potong-ed the creative side of myself. My creative brain cells stopped functioning due to the shitty food.
My mom did go to Pavillion and we took pictures there though!

2009 is coming to an end guys! Time really flies! I look back at how I have grown in the past year and I am really proud to say most of my new year resolutions last year were actually met this year! I am fairly contented of myself so I shall give myself a pat on the back!

How about you guys? Has it ever crossed you mind that many of us make many new year resolutions. We are all hyped and excited about it, and during the time we made our resolutions some of us even go to the extent of telling people beforehand that we will surely see it come to pass. It is during this time of the year where many suddenly feel either a pat on the back or a slap on the face. REALLY!

We always tell ourselves "I know this year sucks, I will do better next time!" I am here to tell you if that is what you think you will never go anywhere in life. Making targets and goals are always good. It gives us a direction to head for in life. Our decisions determine our life I would say. But most people would make crazy new year's resolutions and in the end of the year when they look back most of the things they have promised to do are not done or left hanging halfway.

I feel that when we make a goal and a resolution. We must always weigh the magnitude of that goal. Or in other words rate the difficulty of achieving it. Some may say well "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!" That is correct but it is also written that we have to put our goals into action to see them come to pass! When you set a goal and you know it is next to impossible to achieve it then please do lower your expectations! Not to say that you should lower your bar too much, we must still give ourselves the credit and saying that we should be able to do it rather than setting a easily achievable goal and when we had done it there is not feeling of satisfaction in us because we knowingly set a goal far below our capabilities.

For example last year my new year's resolution was to lose 20 kgs in this year, and guess what I can say I have done exceedingly well because I have been able to lose almost 27 kgs in 6-8 months and till now I am able to maintain my weight while still losing a bit of weight along the way. Some may say that is easy! I have done that too! Goals made by one person may be the same but the sense of achievement varies from one to another. Yes, some may tell me 72 kgs is still heavy what! But losing weight from 99kgs to 72kgs for me is a big achievement because since young I have been gaining weight all my life!

This is my guide to goal setting!

Set an achievable target ( not too easy that you know you can achieve it easily, and not too hard that it is impossible even if God is there to help you!)
Set timeframes so that you can pace yourself while doing it. (setting milestones are super effective. When you see the growth or changes you wanna make come to pass it will encourage you to push further to make things better)
Write them down! ( Do write down your goals, dreams and visions. It helps you visualize it every single time when you feel like you want to give up. It also gives you the encouragement to go on)
Confess to yourself that you can do it! ( Always tell yourself that you can do it, Jim Carrey , when felt discouraged he will confess to himself that one day he will become a famous comedian and actor. And see what he is right now!)
Tell other people about it! (Telling other people about it is like the best weapon in your arsenal! It unleashes the kiasu character in you! When people ask you whether you have did what you wanted to do, you will either answer proudly or avoid embarassingly. In other words it is like making others track your process)

I have done it so I want to encourage all of my friends to also set a target and try to meet it! After one year then you can also pat yourself on the back and say "you have done well!"

Lastly many have asked me to put my photo last year and compare it to a photo taken just recently to see how much weight I have lost so I shall!

Cyberjaya is officially the most cut-throat place on planet earth. I have never heard of such prices in my whole life!

The outrageous pricing for things here is really pissing me off!

There I was yesterday morning, I went out from my apartment walking to the nearby mamak shop just outside my apartment for roti canai. I normally prefer to have roti "banjir". This is where you rip your roti to bite-sized pieces and then add curry on top of the whole thing making it really look as if the whole plate is flooded with curry. This morning the person who served me poured for me a not very "flooded" plate so I went up to took more curry. Note that I did not take any meat or whatsoever from the curry I just simply took the gravy. For a normal mamak stall they will never care how much curry you can take it will be free... correct?

Think again.... when I approached the counter to pay my bill the person said this, :"Just now you took EXTRA CURRY so I will charge you RM1.50 for the extra curry."
Imagine that! My roti canai was only RM2 but the gravy is 75% of my roti, and its just gravy! The thing was I went there quite a few times already since my stay in cyberjaya and was never told to pay extra when I took extra curry! Clearly the cashier made that up! I argued and the guy said this time I do not need to pay but next time I would have to pay for it. If it really were a requirement to pay money for extra curry they would have insisted I paid for it but since they didn't means they just made it up so they can earn more! Well by trying to ripping me off I think they just lost at least 12 customers cuz trust me I would tell all my friends about it.

Another time I went to the photostat shop to ask them to help me just to add in a stack of notes into a binded copy of my notes. Normally most photostat shops don't charge if it is just to add more notes into a binded copy. They would just do it as a favor. But here in cut-throat-land they charge RM0.50 for each stack of notes you add in!

So don't you agree with me that cyberjaya is officially the most potong leher place on earth? SIAL!

It has been the least 3 months I haven't went back to my homeland. The dirty KL air and the immense heat has dulled my senses. I admit being in KL is far more fruitful than going back to Penang to spend my previous semester break. The emerge fever is on and many of my holidays are packed with activities.

When all are over I just feel that amidst all the excitement and the heat of emerge, I still feel lonely at times. I still feel that I am alone and I the comforts of my home. I long for the feeling of sleeping in my big comfy bed, I miss tasting homecook food, I miss hugging my mother (guys also have a sensitive side ok!)... ULTIMATELY I miss my family.

I am officially branded as one of the homesick. =s
I know that I shouldn't be complaining so much, many other people suffer a far worse fate than me. But then again the feeling for the sense of belonging, and the sense of identity that a family can give you will never be replaced by anything.

I can honestly say that taking the big move to KL to study has been the best thing that life could offer up till this point of my life. But sometimes we have to reserve ourselves keep ourselves in the box and nurture our hurts and then spring back up and picking up where we left off.

I feel blessed to be in KL and to be among great people. I feel right at home in the House of God. I feel the love and care from God and His children. I am surrounded by people who care and love me. I really appreciate what my family in Christ have done for me, but still I miss my one and only mother who is back in Penang all alone. =(

I seriously am emo today =.=

Malacca Trip!

On Tuesday I went on a road trip to Malacca with my uncle! We started our journey early in the morning at about 8 oclock. According to my aunt she said that the journey would take us most probably about 2 hours so we wanted to start early, but then we did not know that actually the journey was going to be so short that we reached Malacca very early, even the coffee shops haven't open yet.

When we reached Malacca we straight away found our way to the Old Town where all the historic buildings were. Frankly speaking Malacca is very small despite being given the title of a City. We reached Jalan Laksamana which was sort of like the road "pointing" to the Old town. It was a narrow single lane road with old shop houses all painted in red on both sides of the road.

After parking our car a a lot near the Melaka River I straight away went into a photo-taking-frenzy! There was a lot of interesting buildings and landmarks surrounding this part of Malacca.

First stop, since my uncle was very hungry we went to find the nearest coffee shop to have our breakfast. I remembered that at the corner of Jonker Street, something like Petaling Street in KL or like Campbell Street in Penang there was a coffee shop selling Chicken Rice Balls. I tried the Chicken Rice Balls before during my visit to Malacca during my choir days competing in the National level choir competition. I was hoping there were other stalls selling typical Malaysian "breakfast food" but when I reached that shop the only stall there is the Chicken Rice stall! So we ended up having Chicken Rice Balls for breakfast. Little do we know during lunch we will also be having the same dish again!

After a very filling breakfast we were determined to visit all the historical landmarks in Malacca. First off we went to the Stadhuys building and the Christ Church Melaka. These buildings were erected during the Dutch colony in Malacca and they don't have intricate carvings like those buildings built by the British,but all of them have the same trait which is all building with dutch influence were painted or repainted red! To me it feels very festive... like chinese new year. :D

The clock tower still works! It still rings!

After that we proceed to the remains of what is left of the St Paul's church. St Paul's was built in 1521 and if not mistaken should be the oldest church in Malacca. It was built by the Portuguese but when the Dutch took over Malacca they still used it as a place of prayer but when the construction of Christ Church was complete St' Paul's Church became a graveyard. That is why we can see countless tombstones in the church and surrounding the church grounds. There is also a statue of Francis Xavier in front of the church. The statue is missing a hand! According to my uncle Francis Xavier's body was buried in Malacca, in St Paul's church initially but they exhumed his remains and took it back to India leaving his hand behind. That is his explanation of the missing hand but according to a source I found on the internet the missing hand was caused by a tree falling on to the statue and broke the hand off it! But this phenomenon is very coincidental don't you think! =/

After the climb up to St Paul's church (it was on top of a hill) We descended to Fort A Famosa. The only part of the fort still standing is the fortress the walls surrounding the fort had already collapsed. The fort itself was nothing special but when looking up to st paul's church with the fort at the foot of the hill it sort of brought me back into history. It caused me to visualize how the situation was during the olden days when the Portuguese fought to protect Malacca from their enemies.

After that we went to many other places including the Melaka Palace replica museum,jonker street, The temples in Jonker street, one mosque in Jonker street. There are too many to list down! So to wrap it up I feel that this trip to Malacca was a fruitful one. I had the opportunity to learn a lot of the history of our own country, thought I may not be able to remember it at least the next time I visit Malacca I am able to find the historical sites easier that this time round!
Can't wait for the trip to Johor the end of this year! I can go to Singapore for shopping! Woohoo!

I just finish my exams. :D Yay! Happy me! I'll be staying back in KL due to the fact that there is actually not much to do back in Penang =/

And my cousin from Penang is due to visit me this week. I also still have an uncle staying in Nilai which I can go visit and spend time with. On top of that I have my dear church members too! (Though most of them are now in the mid of their exam and assignment season.) I will go back to Penang to spend time with my parents but I doubt I will be back for long.

This holiday is short anyways :D

I experienced healing!

Yesterday David Oh (one of the leader's in our church) preached about faith and how to have faith and the steps to really build trust and restoration of our lives like how it was before the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

This sermon impacted me tremendously. Before closing the service David offered to pray for those who are sick as a blessing an also as a testimony to others that as long as you have faith you can do signs and wonders for God.

He asked many to go to the altar so that he can lay hands on them. Actually the day before yesterday, I accidentally stepped into a monsoon drain hole beside the road and I sprained my leg. On Saturday it was swollen and it was a pain to walk. I did not really went up to the altar to let David lay hands on me but then the presence of God was so strong and I believed God that He will surely heal my ankle and true enough in a short while I felt a tingling sensation at my ankle and later I tried to stomp my foot hard on the ground and it really did not feel any pain at all!

I was veryyyy thankful to God for His tremendous healing powers! I wanted to post this topic so that it becomes an encouragement to those who are doubtful of what God can do for you. I challenge everyone of you to believe in Him and have faith in Him that he can do wonders in your life! Amen!

I was so busy for the past few weeks tackling tests after tests and also at the same time doing my assignments. I am very surprised and fascinated that I'm still much alive.

I've been back to Penang the last weekend. My sister is finally starting her degree after waiting for so many months. She had some time to go back with me to Penang. With the heavy workload I don't even have time to relax while I was back in Penang. I had countless of lab reports to catch up with and also in the mean time study for my midterm tests. Despite the busyness I did enjoy the time spent with my family. It has been a long time since our whole family met up in one place so it was very comforting.

I had a really bad experience driving back to KL on merdeka day itself. The highway was very jammed and there were many accidents, and I was one of them. =.=

Ok It happened like this, I was driving on the outer lane because I was doing (if I remember correctly)110km/hr and then when I was approaching Tapah(midway of Penang and KL) There was an accident further down the road but because Malaysians being Malaysians we cannot help but to stretch our necks like tortoises and to take a peek at the accident no matter how bad or gory it is. So as the cars in front of me slowed down I had to jam on the brakes to try and stop the car from hitting the Vios in front of me but to no avail. I crashed into the Vios. The impact was kind of loud but when the Vios drove and parked at the side of the highway the damage done on his car was minimal. I feared for the worst, but as I step out of the car to my surprise my car also suffered minimal 'injuries'. The Vios owner was so kind to only take a compensation of RM100 and to go off after that. Thank God there are still generous people out there!

After that incident I was still in shock by the whole incident so I drove slowly and carefully until I reach Tapah rest-stop. The damage on my car was only the bonnet of the car was dented and it cannot be locked but other than that there were no other damages. I was kind of relieve by that fact. After my sister,my friend and I went to the restroom and when we were preparing to leave I put the key into the ignition and turned it.... It would not start! It was not like there was a spark and it would not start, but there was literally no spark at all! I was getting really worried by now. Did the accident did some other damage not visible to our eyes?

After peering into the engine cavity for a while a group of Indian foremen came up and asked us: "Apa hal? Kereta tak boleh start ah?"
Since they were foremen I allowed them to look at my car but in the end they just simply poke into the engine cavity. I was really scared that they would do something to my car. After a while of poking my car started! But then one of the guys switch off the engine again! He said something was wrong with my wiring and he would only be able to assess the problem if we would tow our car to his workshop in Tapah. I was skeptical at first. My sister tried to call Perodua to find out whether they would tow my car since in the manual they stated they would tow for free but after finding out that towing to KL would cost us RM500 (insane right?!) we had no choice but to ask the foreman to tow our car to his workshop.

On the way to his workshop he was saying that there were many accidents on the highway today and there were not enough tow cars around to tend to every accident and I was considered lucky to have met him. I found this very misleading when we reached his workshop because his workshop was not even open! Imagine telling us that he has his hands tied up because of the many accidents on the highway but then his workshop is not even opened! How would he then be able to fix any cars which are brought into his workshop?

After he released our car at the workshop I tried to start the car again and it did start! To be sure I tried again and again. I was planning to drive off already when another repairman riding a bike came to the workshop and told us that we should let him check first to be sure. I saw him tugging at something under my steering wheel and suddenly my car can't start again or in other words it went back to its initial condition.

I could tell something is not right so I reached under the steering wheel and I found out that there was a plug which was disconnected. I plugged it back and my car could start again!

I found out that I was scammed! =.= That was it, I called my sister's boyfriend just to make sure whether my car is able to sustain the drive back to KL. He gave me the green light so I decided that we should get going before they have another chance to try to cheat us again.

In the end my car did sustain the drive to KL and yesterday when my sister sent my car to the workshop they say there was nothing wrong to my engine nor the wiring! I suspect that since my car bonnet cannot be locked at that time the indians must have seen an opportunity to make some quick cash so they must have meddled with my car!

But then again I cannot prove it so it would be their word against mine. In the end I had to pay 100 ringgit for the accident, another 96 for towing- 80 for towing,6 ringgit for toll and 10 ringgit for checking services! The service charge was not stated until when we wanted to leave! They did not even consult their boss to find out whether to charge us or not they just simply said that when we check your car it is already compulsory that we have to pay for "checking" services. Plus another 380 ringgit to repair my dented bonnet the whole event cost me a whopping RM576!

But I still thank God for being there with me all along. If it were not for Him I think my car would have sustain even more damage. If it were not for His wisdom and discernment I would have been scammed even more by the Indian ~~bastards~~ men. If it were not for Him I would have not reached KL safely. I still have to give thanks to Him for his protection. =)

Last but not least I really really apologize to my sister and my friend for not driving carefully and for what has happen throughout the journey back.

First Time

Woke up at 6.15 I can still feel my conscience asking me..pleading me in fact to close back my eyes to sleep. I lazily pulled myself up from bed knowingly that today will be my first day serving as a keyboardist in CHCKL I am excited yet nervous, but now my body is all still in sleep mode.

I dragged myself to the bathroom and took the early morning bath. Luckily Raymond's place has water heater or I would have been shivering the whole duration of my brief but thorough shower. After the refreshing shower despite my tired body my mind is awake and ready to serve God in the chinese service!

I drove to CHEC for practice before prayer meeting. Met up with the other members who were serving with me today and we tighten up songs and checked our chords to make sure we have everything right. But what today's service taught me was that we can never be too ready for anything. We must anticipate certain changes or extra things which will come during the duration of the service.

I did not cover all bases during practice so when Shirley went up on stage and prayed it was very hard to flow with her. Partly because I am new but that was not an excuse I think. I was not really that prepared in terms of chord progressions and tones used to build the atmosphere. All in all it was a very good experience. despite everything I feel that we did genuinely served in the chinese church today because we all simply love God.

I do anticipate the next time I will be serving in church again because I will prepare myself to be a dry sponge and to soak up all the things I can learn from serving.

Can't wait!

I have 2 more papers to go but a stack of assignments coming my way. I am not too worried just slightly tired by the fact I still have so much to do!

I need strength from Him. I need to continue to persevere!

But for now its a brief moment for me to rest my brain cells for the upcoming tasks.

For your information (you know who you are :D) I have been really busy for the past few weeks. For those who have my msn you all would know that I am just up against 4 midterm tests in 2 weeks and during my break I have been back in Penang. Since I have so many midterms just around the corner going back to Penang was not really a time to relax but time to prepare for the upcoming battle! Yes I admit I frequent starbucks daily when I was back in Penang as a result of my mom terminating the internet connection at home which forced me to do so. Apparently now I realize how much I need facebook xD. It was never an issue until when I cannot have access to it then it hit me. I NEED FACEBOOK LoL .

This week was pretty bad considering I have to cope with midterms,tutorials, assignments,lab reports and classes. Its time again for me to pick up the baton and start running. I must keep on running from now on until the finish line, but in order to do that I really need strength from Him and perseverance. Keep on keeping on as they say.

On a more random note, I have one particular friend who told me I like to talk. Then others seconded that comment made to me. Am I really THAT talkative? I need to know whether me talking alot is a good thing or a bad thing.

On a MORE random note I woke up super super early this morning and I saw the sun just rising from the horizon making the skyline such a beautiful shade of purplish orange.

Recently I got myself 2 GORGEOUS converse-es that I drop-dead-love!

I got one which was a plain thick laced navy green

This is my first Converse ever! Honest! I chose these pair was because the green is very easy to match with clothes. The big lace holes are somewhat nicer than the small lace holes of the usual Converse.

The latex soles are sort of off white which gives the shoe an initial more dirty/used look. I like that because the funny thing about Converse is that the dirtier or worn out your Converse is the cooler it becomes! Weird eh!

The all star Patent!

My next pair of converse is also a canvas one. I bought this in Times Square. I bought this pair was because it had a very Ed Hardy themed design on the side of the shoe.
It is called the sailor jerry (i think) ? The colour is like parchment yellow and i like the design by the side of the shoe. Hidden underneath the laces are written a bunch of chinese words which apparently means Death Before Dishonor which in chinese the grammar seems to be wrong.

Ok it is not as bad as it seems. Don't worry my life is NOT FALLING APART.My gadgets are! =(

First off is my ever so dear Samsung Laptop. The ~~not so~~ sleek lappy is dying on me. I am constantly being bugged by crashes and hangs. It feels like my laptop wants to end its own life. It has been so bad that many a time it cannot even pass the booting up stage and the screen just freezes for minutes before I get really irritated and hit the restart button. The program repertoire is also slowly shrinking. In its glorious era it can run all the latest games and even support heavy graphic programs such as adobe premiere pro and after effects. Now I have no intention of pulling the plug by installing such monster programs, its overkill. The LED on the laptop where it indicates the CPU usage is always on. At times the CPU usage is constantly at 100% meaning even clicking the start button lags! Imagine!

Next up is my good ol' N73. Generally the Nokia N-Series is labeled as one hell of a powerhouse. It has many functions and it boasts many features. The downside is its ability to slow things down for you. The interface is so slow that you feel that the old 3310 would win in terms of speed. At time it would go haywire. The button to make calls would go on a strike of sorts and you can't seem to be able to place a call at all until you have to restart the phone all over again. Sometimes the execution of programs are so slow that it hangs. It has been known that N-Series phones tend to lock up due to over-usage. My N73 is not even stocked with pictures nor programs and it also performs at the speed rate of a snail! It has been at least 3 years already this phone has served me tirelessly I have no complains until now. The slow interface is not at all coherent with the speed of how life is going right now!

I know that electronic equipments have a lifespan. The transistors may get damage due to various reasons. Heat,dust,short,or even a thing as simple as over-usage. It is alot like us Humans. It dies out eventually. One thing we Humans are different than gadgets are that us humans can and must constantly upgrade ourselves. If my pc and phone behave like humans it would save me a hell lot of money to buy new ones right!

Since I'm talking about the issue of changing, it reminds me that my mother reads my blog! So I here make an announcement: "Mom I desperately need a new laptop!Not a phone but a laptop! Well if you really want to get me a phone I obviously won't reject the offer!"

Tenji-Supper

My classmates all went for supper at Tenji yesterday night. The only reason I went with it because it was very rare we had outings together and I was also wondering what is so special about Tenji. I heard many people talking about how good the food at Tenji was. Frankly I had quite high expectations since the meal would cost me almost 50 bucks!
*watches helplessly as 50 ringgit flies away* T.T

The spread was insanely enormous. The ingredients they used for the food is top notch. The presentation of the food was quite good. Saying that Tenji was a Japanese restaurant is an understatement. Yes most of the spread was Japanese food but there was 2 stations one serving chinese food and another serving western food, and I personally feel the western and chinese food taste better comparatively to the Japanese spread. They should change the name of the restaurant to Tenji fusion buffet.

The ambiance was good. It had a fairly romantic feel to it, though the crowd who turned up for the supper promotion totally killed the atmosphere. The whole place was like a wet market! People were snatching oysters like kids snatching their favorite toy. The place was so crowded and noisy it seems to resemble a bazaar rather a restaurant.

After having a round of the Japanese spread they had prepared for the night I wasn't that impressed about the food. I had to admit I liked the chunky sashimi and the ramen but everything else was just normal. We can easily find it in any normal Japanese restaurant. Salmon is an all time favorite when people mention sashimi. I feel that salmon gets so much promotion the fish now is like not exotic nor is it special anymore. Besides poorly handled salmon will have a very fishy smell and it does not taste nice at all. It is true that salmon is very expensive but I'd rather have maguro (tuna) sashimi than salmon sashimi. The western spread was kind of interesting. The beef was prepared quite nice and tender. The butter fish was quite nice. I personally think the western spread, though smaller, is superior in terms of taste compared to the Japanese spread. As for the chinese spread, the Cod fish was quite nice though they served mostly the skin part of the Cod which is very oily which prohibits us to eat alot of it without getting "jelak" of the high oil content of the fish.

Nevertheless I did had a great time with my classmates, enjoying the time spent together.

Personally I think Tenji doesn't not live up to the reputation people gave it. In other words I think it is kind of overrated. The food is okay not splendid. Topping up with the promotion gimmick the restaurant did to draw customers they totally destroyed the atmosphere. It feels like we were having a steamboat buffet rather than a high class Japanese buffet. To me it is like any other Japanese buffet which now seem to be crowded since most buffet restaurants are having the 50% discounts, struggling to survive in the economic meltdown. To me it is nothing special. Nevertheless that did not stop me from having a great time!

I've been a fan of chicken rice for don't know how long already. The place where I live there is no chinese chicken rice. The malays there try to mimic the chinese hainan chicken rice but with no avail. The chicken is tasteless and the rice not "Heong" at all. Recently I went to Puchong and I tried one of the chicken rice which was recommended by my uncle who so happen to also stay in Puchong.

Comparatively, the chicken rice in Puchong is so CHEAP!

In Cyberjaya, a plate of tasteless Chicken Rice will cost you about 5 ringgit and to make things worse the chicken is all not deboned. In Puchong a plate of chicken rice with "siew yok" roasted pork only costs 10 ringgit for 2 people! If most of you do go to the market you would know pork prices are like soaring since last year so I find is super cheap!

Ahh crap... I'm thinking of chicken rice now T.T

I am emo because I went to digital mall and I realized the printer toner I wanted to buy was more expensive than it was 3 months ago.

I am emo because my hardisk space is running out.

I am emo because I don't have the money to buy clothes despite reef is having 50% discount store wide!

I am emo because 13 is sleeping with Foreman from the House series.

On a happier note....

I am NOT emo because I had Bak Kut Teh after months of craving for it.

I am NOT emo because I bought clothes since I've lost weight.

I am NOT emo because I've lost a total of 20kgs since I've moved to KL.

I am NOT emo because I had fairly good results for my previous Semester.

Look at the things I've written above shows our emotions don't only swing by the big events or issues which we are coping in our lives.

Small little things can vastly affect our emotions. It can either make us feel good about ourselves or just make us feel that the world is going to end.

Being emo and sad and full of yourself is not going to improve your quality of life. Self condemnation, ie saying that you are fat,not good enough for someone, not smart enough, doesn't suddenly grant you the ability to be thin not suddenly be compatible with someone or sudden genius befalls on you. I believe that only sheer determination will you be able to cope with the issues of life.

I believe that you attract yourself to the things you think and want to think about the most. (Law of Attraction)

Being optimistic, full of faith, and filled with hope will genuinely improve your lives even though you may have had a crappy day in college, you may have failed your exams, you may just have screwed up in your relationship, but it ain't the end of the world!

Without realizing it, us humans put a lot of faith in the things other people do. Just for instance, we need a certain amount of faith to take a lift in the Eiffel Tower because the tower may just fail, the cable may snap and there goes our lives. We also put a lot of faith in the food that we ordered in a restaurant or a food stall. Faith is simply the substance of things hoped for , but evidence of things not seen. We don't see it to believe in it. It doesn't only apply on religion. Taking the lift example. We can't see the cables pulling the lift but we put faith in the engineers who created it that it will operate just fine without the cable snapping sending us to oblivion!

I lift up my life to God and lets Him deal with my problems. I feel free from the burden I'm carrying for the sad things which had happened to me.

and Honestly I've since then been living without worries.

Back In KL

2 weeks flies past fast. In just a blink of an eye the times I spent back in Penang with my family,relatives and friends has come to an end. I did try to make the most out of my brief holiday. The 1st few days were the best when I start to plan for the 2 week long holiday. To makes things better one of my cousins also had break exactly the same as mine and my sister had moved to KL for studies cum work.

These 2 weeks had been a blast! I am able to fully utilized my camera taking shots of around Penang. Admiring my own photo taking skills. *smirks* I practically took photos of anything which I deem worthy of my attention.

Besides indulging myself with my new found hobby I also had a great time enjoying all the scrumptious food which makes Penang the reason to be called the Food Heaven. Penang is like a pot of steaming hot stew stewed to perfection with the flavours of the ingredients all infused in the the stock making it the ultimate destination for food enthusiasts. I tell you Penang is like a food production plant. Everywhere there are foodstalls,shops, restaurants selling all kinds of food. That is also the reason why Penangnites can be easily overweight if they don't take care of their diet!

But all good things come to an end.

Now its time for me to pick myself up and to study hard again in the new coming semester!

I am back in Penang!

Yes!

The decision to be back was one not planned. I was supposed to be staying in KL for a week but my mom was urging me to be back in Penang.

Back for 2 weeks and I have received so much blessing from my family and friends.
I have been out most of the time since my mom cancelled the internet connection at my home I feel disconnected from the social networking community. It made me feel that staying back in Penang the life is super turtle-speed SLOW. I believe it is just me comparing life in KL and in Penang. But I am kind of used to the fast paced life in KL and I like it that way so being back in Penang makes me feel old =.= because everything here moves slower. The traffic is slower the people are slower. In an extreme note when I am alone at home I even feel that every tick of the clock is slower.

Personally I love to hang out at starbucks occasionally when I have the finances and order a cup of mocchiato and enjoy the smooth coffee while surfing the net in the comfortable but cold starbucks lounge. But man I tell you the fact that I have done that for the past few days shows that how free I am when I am back in Penang! Since my mom can't possibly be around all the time I have decided to spend most of my free time either loitering aimlessly in malls or I would spend a whole day in starbucks (like today). I can't wait to be back in KL but I also want to stay back in Penang to spend more time with my mom because once I'm back in KL it will be months before I will see her again.

Simple solution....just ask my mom to move to KL! Easier said than done, but she did promise that she would consider moving once I start working.

who says that you can't have the best of both worlds. =)

I'll be back in KL in 3 days time.

Its the end of the first semester and the start of another tough 14 week semester and ending with another pathetic 2 week break.

but hey that's life.
